Ideas for Gameplay

We know the of the subject of the game which is the Titanic and also making this an educational experience. But over the winter break Ted and I had several discussions on what is the Story of this game. The one that we have agree on is difinitely different and I believe that we can get the student engage with it.

Player have been assigned an assignment your class to prepare a presentation on the Titanic. Player's grandparents have refer to a antique bookstore that might be helpful on the research. Player goes on a trip to this book store, once you walk in you find that texts are old and ancient.
A old-man sits the clerk desk and says "Good day, young fellow how I can I help you?"
"...hello...I am looking a book on the Titanic...for my class." You say very shyly.
"Ahh you must be looking for the rare copy of the 'Titanic' by Filson Young." The bookstore owner pulls up a book from his desk where there dust flying off the cover and the leather bound brown book. Once he blows and wipes off the dust the player can see a image of the Titanic on the front. You take the book.
"There's a reading center upstairs if you like to use it"...

This just a snip it please post your thoughts on this game story so far and suggestion will be taken in consideration.

  1. The meeting held on Thursday, Jan. 11th and the subsequent Friday meeting between the programmers seems to have us now indicate that there shouldn't be too much story outside of the titanic levels or we lose audience interest. Honestly, we were thinking that after a beginning start menu, their is a stylized level menu in the form of a book on a table where each page gives some introductory detail to each level and its corresponding guiding character, setting, and learning objectives. Also, I suppose the book wouldn't honestly be too ancient since the titanic sank in 1912, and the referenced book was written not too long after. - Zachary Ebner 1/13/18
